18-6 The Six-Step Chain of Institutional Remaking: Nominal Retention of Promises, Legal Reinterpretation, National-Security Repression, Electoral Overhaul, Organizational Elimination, and the Remaking of Memory

This section: 4 items. Expand item → package; each package holds five fixed folders.

SECTION FOCUS
This section arranges the transformation of Hong Kong’s institutions as a sequence of steps, with Macau for comparison: first the promises and outward forms are preserved, then the power to interpret them and national-security enforcement are seized, then elections are restructured and organizations cleared away, and finally education, the media, and public memory are rewritten. 18-6-1

  • 🗄 CH-018.6.4.2.05 18-6-4-2-5 Authorial argument, database judgment, institutional comparison, policy and law, and applications for public communication CHAPTER 19 The CCP's Threat to Annex Taiwan Diplomatic Blockade, Economic Inducement, Political Penetration, and Military Coercion (1949– ) CORE ARGUMENT OF THIS CHAPTER. This chapter examines the compound annexation pressure the CCP has long exerted on the Republic of China on Taiwan: compressing its international space, using markets and material interests for united front work, penetrating political parties, media, and associations, cultivating proxies, waging cognitive warfare, staging frequent military exercises, and threatening a democratic choice with force—even building Party organizations on the island itself. The Taiwan question cannot be described merely as an abstract “dispute over unification”; it must be presented as the real danger of a Party-state regime attempting, by coercive means, to change the way of life and political system of a free society. The very ordinariness of Taiwan's free elections is itself an institutional refutation of one-party monopoly. CONCRETE ENTRY POINT. Military aircraft and warships close in, diplomatic ties and international space are compressed, and commercial interests and media narratives are used to sway choices; the very ordinariness of Taiwan's free elections also constitutes an institutional refutation of one-party monopoly. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION BOUNDARY. This chapter includes only material directly related to “The CCP's Threat to Annex Taiwan: Diplomatic Blockade, Economic Inducement, Political Penetration, and Military Coercion (1949– )” — its ideas, institutions, events, implementation, victims, and lines of responsibility. Terms used in the catalog such as “evil, terror, plunder, enslavement, deception, and crime” are openly stated value judgments or characterizations of mechanism; they must be supported by verifiable fact, and every major figure must be recorded with its source, its basis of counting, and its range. Sharpness does not mean lowering the standard; it means refusing to use neutral language to conceal concrete harm
Rule-of-law boundary: peaceful, rational, non-violent; civilian protection, democratic mandate, and necessary international oversight. "Elimination" refers to research on institutional, lawful paths only.
