Chapter 17 — The Party-State's High-Pressure Rule over Ethnic-Minority Regions Forced Assimilation, Religious Persecution, and Grave Human-Rights Disputes (1949– )

Focus:CORE ARGUMENT OF THIS CHAPTER. This chapter examines the high-pressure rule the CCP has imposed in Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, and other ethnic regions through Party-state, military and police, paramilitary-corps, educational, demographic, and resource policies: grave allegations of forced assimilation, linguistic suppression, religious control, mass surveillance, re-education, and family separation strike directly at human dignity, faith, and cultural survival, and some of these charges have risen to disputes over “cultural genocide” and “genocide.” Sharp exposure cannot substitute for evidence, and so one must distinguish established facts, government explanations, scholarly debates, and material still to be verified, connecting every grave allegation to a specific place, person, institution, and original source.

SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION BOUNDARY. This chapter includes only material directly related to “The Party-State's High-Pressure Rule over Ethnic-Minority Regions: Forced Assimilation, Religious Persecution, and Grave Human-Rights Disputes (1949– )” — its ideas, institutions, events, implementation, victims, and lines of responsibility. Terms used in the catalog such as “evil, terror, plunder, enslavement, deception, and crime” are openly stated value judgments or characterizations of mechanism; they must be supported by verifiable fact, and every major figure must be recorded with its source, its basis of counting, and its range. Sharpness does not mean lowering the standard; it means refusing to use neutral language to conceal concrete harm.
