2-4 The Politics of Lies Inverts Black and White: Carrying Out the Opposite in the Name of the People, Democracy, the Rule of Law, and Stability

This section: 4 items. Expand item → package; each package holds five fixed folders.

SECTION FOCUS
This section examines how the CCP appropriates and inverts public language. “The people” becomes the Party’s name for itself, “democracy” becomes an arrangement internal to the Party, “rule of law” becomes the defense of Party power in the name of law, and “stability” becomes the suppression of victims and of the truth. Once language is monopolized, tyranny can disguise itself by borrowing the vocabulary of civilization, and victims are instead cast as the people who make trouble. 2-4-1
